Stevie Ray Vaughan was born on October 3, 1954, in Dallas, Texas. He played guitar as a tyke and progressed toward becoming the lead vocalist for the Texas band Double Trouble, which prompted work with David Bowie and Jackson Browne. He had hit collections with his band before the 1989 arrival of In Step, for which he earned a Grammy. He likewise recorded with his sibling Jimmy. SRV died in a late night helicopter crash on August 27, 1990, at the age of 35.
