Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Beck – I’m Goin’ Down – MTV Bootleg Show

Stevie Ray Vaughan – I’m Goin’ Down (with Jeff Beck)
“MTV Bootleg Show”, U.I.C. Pavillion, Chicago, IL 28th Oct 1989.

This live performance tells us many things, (the obvious great guitarists performances, etc). But what absolutely amazes me, is that Jeff was aware of being in the presence and on stage with something awesome.

SRV playing with such feel, that even JB was aware of being in the presence of a Master.

There has never been and probably never will be another guitarist that plays with grace and fluidity of Stevie Ray Vaughn. Jeff Beck is legendary, and as skilled as can be, but Stevie just had that something that put him over everybody else.

Very difficult to find a cover that does Freddie justice. Leave it to Jeff and Stevie to fix that problem!

Lyrics:
I’m going down
I’m going, down, down, down, down, down
Yes, I’m going down, yes
I’m going down, down, down, down, down
Yes, I’ve got my feet in the window
Got my head on the ground

Let me down
And close that box car door
Yes, let me down
And close that box car door
Well, I’m goin’ back to Chattanooga
And sleep on sister Irene’s door

Yes, I’m going down
I’m going, down, down, down, down, down
I’m going down
I’m going down, down, down, down, down
Yes, I’ve got my feet in the window
Got my head on the ground
