First heard them in 73 when a friend played their first two albums for me. He told me they were playing at j.j’s, a little club on Pacific coast highway the next night. Immediately went and bought tickets. Man what a show. No flash, just kick ass showmanship. They were dressed in jeans and tee shirts.
When they came out Billy walked up to the Mic and said. “We’re just a lil ol band from Texas and I hope we don’t bore y’all too much”. As soon as the word much came out of his mouth they hit it and didn’t stop all night. Been a fan since my friend dropped the needle on their first album.
