Gary Moore – Still Got The Blues

Gary Moore – Still Got The Blues – Live at Hammersmith Odeon

Who’s 2024 still listen this masterpiece?

Every so often in time a great song is written and performed by a phenomenal talent. “Still Got the Blues” is one of those songs. Gary Moore is one of the most underrated guitarists in music history by mainstream media. Fortunately, real guitar and music fans will always recognize him as one of the greatest musicians in modern-day music history.

Gary Moore was the complete package. He could convey more emotion with a single note than many guitarists could with a flurry of them. Each note he played was drenched in feeling, proving that speed isn’t necessary to demonstrate skill (though he possessed the technical prowess to do both, and he often did!). His tone rivals that of Santana, making every performance memorable.

While widely celebrated for his guitar playing, his vocals were equally impressive. Unlike many vocalists who muffle their consonants, making you strain to understand the lyrics, Gary’s singing was clear and emotive. You could understand every word, each delivered with the same passion as his guitar work.

Gary Moore will be deeply missed, but his music will endure through the ages. He was undoubtedly one of the greats, if not the best. Additionally, hats off to the sound mixer for this video; the quality is excellent.

Lyrics:
Used to be so easy to give my heart away.
But I found out the hard way,
There”s a price you have to pay.
I found out that love was no friend of mine.
I should have known time after time.

So long, it was so long ago,
But I’ve still got the blues for you.

Used to be so easy to fall in love again.
But I found out the hard way,
It”s a road that leads to pain.
I found that love was more than just a game.
You’re playin” to win, but you lose just the same.

So long, it was so long ago,
But I’ve still got the blues for you.

So many years since I’ve seen your face.
Here in my heart, there”s an empty space
Where you used to be.

So long, it was so long ago,
But I’ve still got the blues for you.

Though the days come and go,
There is one thing I know.
I”ve still got the blues for you.
