The Blues Brothers – Sweet Home Chicago

The Blues Brothers – Sweet Home Chicago – Live in the 1980 film, The Blues Brothers.

RIP John Belushi and John Candy, two of the greatest comedians in one great movie! Just freaking brilliant. Great clip from multi-talented performers!

It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark out, and we’re wearing sunglasses. HIT IT!

The Blues Brothers is a classic movie, a slight misfire at the box office on the original release, but a film that gained a substantial cult following via cinema re-releases and especially home viewing. It’s a riotous mix of comedy, musical and serial car crash (literally) with a phenomenal number of legendary musical cameos: Ray Charles, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and John Lee Hooker included.

Lyrics:
Come on, oh baby, don’t you wanna go?
Come on, oh baby, don’t you wanna go
Back to that same old place
Sweet home Chicago

Come on, baby, don’t you wanna go?
Hida-hey, baby, don’t you wanna go?
Back to that same old place
Oh, sweet home Chicago

Well, one and one is two
Six and two is eight
Come on, baby, don’t you make me late

Hida-hey, baby, don’t you wanna go?
Back to that same old place
Sweet home Chicago

Come on, baby, don’t you wanna go?
Oh, come on, baby, don’t you wanna go?
Back to that same old place
Sweet home Chicago

Six and three is nine
Nine and nine is eighteen
Look there, brother, baby and
You’ll see what I seen

Hida-hey, baby, don’t you wanna go?
Back to that same old place
Sweet home Chicago

Oh, come on, baby, don’t you wanna go
Come on, baby, don’t you wanna go?
Back to that same old place
My sweet home Chicago
